Enhancement dollars and Grant Monies were received in 2016, by Brighter Beginnings in Child Care, through Block Grant Monies with the Race to the Top (RTT) Quality Improvement Rating System for voluntary participation in the program. UCLA students came out and rated the program which allows for additional monies to be used to purchase materials and supplies at the same time increasing quality and enhancing the Family Child Care Home. We purchased child sized furniture, and indoor and outdoor equipment and purchased materials for the dress up area, the science area, and block areas. We also purchased dolls, and toys. This year in 2017, the program is offering an additional $3,500.00 for continued participation in the quality improvement system through Child Care Alliance and the Los Angeles County office of Education. Coaching services from Options for Learning is a part of this process and $500.00 will be used for PITC (Program for Infant Toddler Caregiving) Training throughout 2017. $3,000.00 will be used to purchase new materials, games, and educational supplies including furniture for the rest of this year. We are really happy to be able to purchase some state of the art materials, additional quality furniture and educational supplies for all the children to enjoy for years to come by participating in the program.
